energizer_bunny bunny-history

Friday is always the day for really important discussions at our office.  Today the main topic is, who came first? The Energizer Bunny or the Duracell Bunny? In my naivety, I was sure sure sure that the Energizer Bunner was first. I asked my coworker (who was born and raised in Europe) which battery company has the pink bunny? He said Duracell. At the beginning of my research today I thought Duracell ripped off Energizer! Such cheaters, such imitators. But now I’m not so sure..

Energizer Bunny History: Born in 1989

Duracell Bunny History-Born in 1973!!

I was disappointed. Either way, I’d like to wish the Energizer Bunny and Energizer Batteries a belated Happy Birthday!

birthday

At least he’s been around for 20 years? Listen to this, he’s an adage century icon!

“The Bunny has become the ultimate symbol of longevity, perseverance and determination,” says Mark Larsen, communications category manager for Energizer. During the past decade, everyone from politicians to sport stars used the Energizer Bunny to describe their staying power.”

I’d much rather hug the Energizer Bunny and I really think I have before (aka probably some creepy guy inside a Energizer Bunny suit.)  Anyways, check out the Energizer Bunny Store for products like these:

Bunny Slippers
d176

Headphone Charm

d1994

Foam Ears

d180

So next time your boss asks for energizer batteries? Buy him some of these as well.

Oh and remember these great commercials?

Read about in on Wikipedia too.

All this talk of Energizer Batteries makes you think, do I need batteries? If you do, save money by getting them here.

And if you have a favorite Energizer Bunny Video or an opinion on whose better (Duracell vs Energizer), comment below!

Last month we showcased some bookcases to spice up your office. Check out that post here. Since then, well we’ve come across a few others. While you want a bookcase that will actually hold your books, you may want one that adds some interest too. A good conversation piece as my mom would say.

bookshelf4

I like the idea of walking into an office and seeing a running man on the wall full of books. Or even the cat one.

The BIBLIOCHAISE

bookshelf1

Instead of a normal bookcase in your waiting room or lounge, how about one of these? The bibliochaise looks like it is actually comfortable, not just functional.

Bookcase Wall

bookcase2

I’ve definitely seen walls full of shelves of books but I really like this design. I’m not sure I would have enough books to fill each shelf but I imagine sticking some magazines, craft supplies, flowers, even blankets in some of those slots. While a normal wood bookcase might fit your needs, why not maximize the amount of space?

Quad Bookcase

quad-book-case

Add a blob to your wall! That’s what this makes me think. I love the different sized slots everywhere. You can store so many different things and make it actually look organized.

Silk (The Spider Web Bookcase)

spider-web-bookcase2

Designed by Bloq, perfect for that corner space. From what I read, they custom make the pieces so you can customize your web.

Opus Shelving

sean-yoo-opus-1

While not the most intense bookcase out there, this piece is both classy and simple. Made by designer Sean Yoo, it could be the perfect alternative to a simple bookcase. If I was nervous about getting anything too out of the ordinary, I’d go for this piece.

Stacks and “The City”

leaning

I’m not sure if this is really what it is called, I hope not. It’s a nice look but maybe inconvenient to have to stick books in specific places. I tend to like shelves that I can throw things in very quickly.

Flexitube

doris_kisskalt_flexitube_mo

Designed by Doris Kisskalt, this bookcase serves a dual purpose. Put it against your wall or put it in the middle of your room to divide up the space. They are easy to stack and you can choose between 2 circle sizes.

Budak Modular Shelving

bookshelf13

This makes me think of a stack of trees, perfect to sit on or throw your stuff on I guess (It seems like it would break if you actually sat on it.) You can stack up a hundred of them and make a library or stack up a couple for an end table or nightstand.

Ceiling Bookcase

ceiling-bookshelf

I’m still trying to understand how this works but I love the idea. Living in a studio apartment with a loft, this would be perfect for me. What I’m trying to understand here is if you need a chair or if you have to be really tall to make this work. Either way, it looks cool and is a great way to use your space!

staplerheart

Valentine’s day in the office is much different than Valentine’s day in elementary school. If only we could come with decorated boxes and cheap treats and cards for each other. Sometimes I’m still tempted to buy those Power Ranger valentines for all my friends from the store. Especially when they come with a pack of Nerds.

Now maybe Power Ranger valentines are not the most appropriate gift for your boss,  but how about the Red Swingline Stapler? Not only is it from the movie Office Space (which is an office favorite I assume,) it’s cheap! Get it here for $15.22. Plus, it looks like you actually tried. Something better than the Necco sweethearts or box of chocolates he or she will probably get from someone else.

Are you the boss? Get a Swingline Stapler for your secretary or for the February Employee of the Month! Or give it to that workaholic spouse of yours. Maybe they’ll remember you when they use it. Happy Stapling!

Keyboard_for_Blondes_pic

Now don’t be offended. As a blonde myself, I think I’m allowed to poke fun at my own kind.

This is the Keyboard for Blondes or Blonde Board for short. Besides the vibrant girly color, check out the key names:  No! (Esc Key), WARNING! size XXL letters (Caps lock), Yes I want it! (Enter), and many variations of “useless” keys. The Function keys are apparently completely useless since none of them held on to any description. Maybe this truly is a more efficient keyboard. You know immediately which keys to disregard when all you do is update your status on Facebook. I really did want to pat myself on the back when I noticed the “Very Smart Blonde Button.” I use that one all the time. Along with Oops! and the Eraser.

Make sure to check out their website, it’s hysterical.

https://www.keyboardforblondes.com

Some of the top ten reasons to have one include:

Parison Hilton doesn’t have one
Matches your lipstick
Excuse for a cute guy in the office to talk to you (really?)
Even better, Excuse for a cute girl in the office to talk to you! Not sure girls would think this keyboard was comical or cute if a boy had it. That would be beyond funny, kind of to the point of scary.

Tagline: When we got in touch with our inner blondes …It was fun!

We’ve all seen the duct tape wallets, duct tape roses, duct tape folders, and yes even duct tape covered boats.  Have you seen duct tape bandages? and duct tape diet books?

Nexcare 3M Duct Tape Bandages

Looking around on the internet it seems like some are impressed, some are not so impressed. One guy claimed he’s been using duct tape to seal his wounds for 15 years! I am impressed that he still has skin/hair on his body. The great thing about 3M Duct Tape bandages are that they are made of duct tape but use a medical grade adhesive. While some still claim these are nothing on duct tape, I think they are a less painful alternative.

The Duct Tape Diet Book

The duct tape diet has received great reviews. I’m still at a loss as to what duct tape has to do with it. I read the description and one sentence involved duct tape. “Tape diet villains into solitary confinement.” I imagine taking a big box of oreos and duct taping them to the wall in my basement storage room. Sounds like it might work. As long as the whole box is wrapped in 5 layers of duct tape and I get amnesia.

Know of any other useful duct tape products? Please share!
