That is the first thing I thought of when I saw the new Little Island Robot. From what I understand, when you talk to someone on Skype you don’t need to be on a computer anymore. Now you can talk to a doll that actually sounds like your friend and moves its body too.

Plus it has a built in camera which lets you scope out the premises if you are on the other end. Oh and it will read your RSS Feeds and tell you about the weather. I’m still deciding if you can hug this little guy (or girl.) It is plush but it has a 500MHz Geode Processor. Did I mention it is over $2,000? Ouch.  Some great descriptive words from their site:

Sadly I now want both. Get one for your sweetheart/co-worker/friend for Valentines Day! (If you’re ridiculously wealthy.) First I was thinking, wow there are some cool products in case the power goes out at the office (the lav nav, the pen, etc) but as I kept looking-and maybe because it’s Friday-I started feeling like I was picking out products for a dance club. What if the power went out and for some reason you were stuck in the office? I think I’d be pretty happy if some smart employee had stocked up with some of these items.

Easy Button Musical Interface

This one is extreme. From Instructables, “It alllows cheap buttons to be created that each send a keyboard character as input to a program. In addition, the proceeds of easy button sales go to the Boys and Girls Club of America.” (I like that charity part, that’s nice.) Not sure exactly how it works/what it does, so read about it on their site.

Company Custom Easy Buttons?

I guess it’s a good marketing idea. Buzline, “corporate logo trinket maker,” will now sell easy buttons, custom for your company! Plug them in to your USB and when you press them they go to that site! Neat neat. Minimum order quantity is 50.
