To set the tone for the relaunch of our blog, we wanted to post something that will hopefully define the style of our future posts to come. We wanted this post to incorporate a little bit of beauty, a little bit of function, a little bit of humor, a little bit of sustainability, a little bit of destructive inventiveness, and a lot of plain old fun! Something that truly caught our eye were these spectacular reuse of a workplace essential- the bic pen. Now they are just as useful off the clock, as on the clock.

All I can say is, for all those times during school and childhood, having being disciplined for the nervous habit of chewing up my pens, this wonderful concoction of pen caps and eating utensils can finally be the reason I can proudly return to my favorite childhood pastime. Now if there is only some gourmet lunch meal I can terrorize with these wonderful cutleries. Din-ink is designed by 3 Italian designers for DesignBoom’s Dining in 2015 competition. Not only are these utensils futuristic in concept, they are futuristic and environmentally friendly in material fabrication as well. Din-ink is made of natural starch and is heat-resistant, and is completely biodegradable in 180 days.

You won’t find these at your local grocery, nor will you find these at your favorite office supply store; but you will definitively want to wolf down all of the following Flash Drives.

There has been a certain craze for USB 2.0 gadgets and for case modding, in the past couple years. Why limit ourselves to mundane rectangular plastic flash drives, when you can make mouth watering ones. Such was the thought process of some crazy manufacturers, who began producing drives in all shapes, sizes, and theme. And why not produce flash drives in the shape of one’s favorite food.

Don’t they look authentic? This collection is produced by Dynamism. I am amazed by the selection - there is even more choice than my corner sushi place. They are on the pricey side, but they sure last longer.

Do you remember the fry/hamburger/nugget-shaped toys from McDonald’s, from back in the day? This collection of drives look like them and is stirring up a lot of memories.

Their are flash drives for everyone, including for the police. Now every serious Police inspector can bring along with him his data.

Oh! colorful fortune cookies. And guess what! you can upload all the fortune you want in it. These fortune cookies as well the previous two drives were all manufactured by Vavolo. And the starting price in only $29.99 for the 1gig version. How has a sweet tooth?

OOU! released a series of drives in the shape of Ice Cream. Each coming in its own presentation box - and are small enough to attach to a key chain and at lease offer a cover of the USB connector via the snap away lid. The best part is that they don’t melt.

Wearable office space

Designed by Fashion Superstar Hussein Chalayan, who consistently pushes the boundary of fashion in terms of material, construction, and spatial configurations. In this dress, designed for the 2000 winter collection, where he explored the relationship between furniture & fashion, he was able to turn workable surface into a fashion statement, and vice versa. Now if only someone could turn office work into something just as fashionable, or as easy to get in or get out of? Mmm, now that’s food for thoughts!

The Google Plex, need I say more?

Probably one of the more guesstimated, gossiped about, or simply googled workplace since its inception. The Google Plex, located in Mountain View, California, home to some of the most sought after employees in the world, include office amenities and benefits that are truly the stuff of legends. Just to name a few, the Plex come fully stocked with micro-kitchens, giant rubber balls, Legos, and is comprised of 11 cafeterias of diverse selections, various sports facilities, and laundry rooms. Now, the eternal question, does the office make the employee, or employee the office?

Taipei 101, residing in the heart of Taiwan, Is currently ranked as the world’s tallest building at 1667 feet upon completion in 2005. However, the building’s boast to fame may not be for long as the Burj Dubai in Dubai, UAE, is in the final stages of construction and awaiting occupancy in 2009. Is it just me, or has Dubai being attempting to outrank everyone and everything in breadth, width, and height?

The next time you feel frustrated working with coworkers, doesn’t seem productive at all, senses and minds dulled by the humdrum sounds of the office appliances, take a spin on this phenomenal device and take your office duties outside. This is not exactly the first thing one would think of when one mentions the words cool office suite, however for the unlimited white open space allotted for one to exercise their productive imagination, at the relative price of none, I am getting one and so definitely should you!
