  • I’d like slimmer chairs that fit better into my compact desk area.

  • Barbara Hyneman

I have a 6’2″ husband and a 6″4″ son. Needless to say its really hard finding “big and tall” stuff for them. It would really work good for my family.

  • Pamela Emmett

I wish that all desk chairs had adjustable arm rests. It seems that when my chair is high enough to make my legs and back comfortable, I can not push my chair up close enough to the desk because the arms rests are in the way.

ALSO THE MOST IMPORTANT IMPROVEMENT IN A BIG AND TALL CHAIR WOULD BE DURABILITY. I HAVE BOUGHT TWO CHAIRS AND THEY HAVE NOT LASTED TOO LONG. SO, DURABILITY, ADJUSTABILITY AND PRICE ARE THE THREE IMPROVEMENTS THAT WOULD BE USEFUL FOR ME AND MANY OTHERS. THANKS, SANDRA

  • Sandra R Walley

I AM DISABLED AND MUST SIT FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME TO GET ANY WORK DONE AROUND MY HOUSE. THE WALKER THAT I HAVE IS INADEQUATE. THE CHAIR I NEED SHOULD BE WIDE AND COMFORTABLE AND ADJUSTABLE IN HEIGHT AND ARMREST HEIGHT. WITH PLENTY OF PADDING ON BOTTOM AND BACK SUPPORT ON THE BACK. THAT WOULD BE SO WONDERFUL AND TO GET IT AT AN AFFORDABLE PRICE. THAT IS THE HARD PART. THANKS, SANDRA

Make the tailbone (back center section) hollowed out and/or lower than the sides and center to reduce pressure on the spine.

Relieving spinal compression will cause more comfort when sitting for a long period of time and will have a long term effect on reducing back pain.

Back pain while sitting causes not only discomfort; it causes stress and lack of full focus on the job or even web browsing.

Thanks for providing for the ABOVE avarage consumer.

Does the chair back go up for people over 6′ 3″ so they can lean their heads back?

Is the tilt spring extra strong to handle the additional weight so a person does not automatically go to the recline position?

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if the manufacturer’s could find a way that I could lose weight, firm, and tone while spending way too many hours sitting in my chair? Seriously, I started using Twitter & Facebook almost two years ago, and I’m pretty sure sitting at the old desktop this long as done some damage. I’d love more support for my back and a softer cushion for my bottom.

I agree with a lot of the comments above regarding features that could be improved for office chairs. I think that one feature I would like to see is that they are able to bear more weight in general. Sadly we are not a nation of feather light folk. Another thing that would actually be really great is if more chairs were made in the U.S.

  • I would love it if the chair wouldn’t be so bulky and looked sleeker. Someone must be able to design one that doesn’t look like a reclining lounge chair!

I’ve purchased many a computer/desk chair in the past and the one pet peave I have, no matter how much I may spend on them is the cushioning/padding. The arm rest and seat cushioning/padding always seem to ware out rather quickly if used regularly. You begin with a comfortable, cushioned arm rest and seat and end up having to buy additional seat cushions or placing some type of pillow in order to compensate. After normal daily use, the arm rests end up being totally useless. Granted, the chair isn’t expected to last forever but, something should be done in order to come up with some better padding. Just my opinion.

  • Jan

  • The office chair should also offer support to the lower back to mimic the natural lordotic curve of the lower back and discourage the backwards slumping motion. Your lower back, mid back, and shoulder blades should all make contact with the upright support of your office chair.
