I have a 6’2″ husband and a 6″4″ son. Needless to say its really hard finding “big and tall” stuff for them. It would really work good for my family.

  5. Pamela Emmett says:

I wish that all desk chairs had adjustable arm rests. It seems that when my chair is high enough to make my legs and back comfortable, I can not push my chair up close enough to the desk because the arms rests are in the way.

  36. Eric says:

Make the tailbone (back center section) hollowed out and/or lower than the sides and center to reduce pressure on the spine.

Relieving spinal compression will cause more comfort when sitting for a long period of time and will have a long term effect on reducing back pain.

Back pain while sitting causes not only discomfort; it causes stress and lack of full focus on the job or even web browsing.

I agree with a lot of the comments above regarding features that could be improved for office chairs. I think that one feature I would like to see is that they are able to bear more weight in general. Sadly we are not a nation of feather light folk. Another thing that would actually be really great is if more chairs were made in the U.S.

  147. Julie says:

I’ve purchased many a computer/desk chair in the past and the one pet peave I have, no matter how much I may spend on them is the cushioning/padding. The arm rest and seat cushioning/padding always seem to ware out rather quickly if used regularly. You begin with a comfortable, cushioned arm rest and seat and end up having to buy additional seat cushions or placing some type of pillow in order to compensate. After normal daily use, the arm rests end up being totally useless. Granted, the chair isn’t expected to last forever but, something should be done in order to come up with some better padding. Just my opinion.
