I always keep hand sanitizer handy in my purse and office during flu season.

  • KenB

Whole family washes their hands often, esp. after coming back from the grocery store, or any public place. We also take vitamins daily. Seems to make a difference in the frequency with which we now get sick (not as often)

  • I plan to take care of cold and flu season by keeping my cots disinfected with Lysol after each use. Having tissues, soap, and hand sanitzer available in every center in my classroom. What I noticed that sometimes the sink is so far away so when the kids cough and sneeze they have a long way to go to get the things they need to get cleaned up. So my having these items in every center it will allow them to still go and wash their hands and so fourth, however they can begin the process from where they are at.

  • Washing your hands often is very important. I wipe down surfaces everyone touches with Clorox wipes at least twice a day. Replace toothbrushes more often.

  • I like to use disinfecting sprays on door knobs, light switches, appliance handles, and the taps. I know that will cut down on the spreading of germs. I also like to stock up on cleansing wipes, kleenex and hand sanitizers.

  • Lynn Baroun

I wash my hands and take my vitamins to prepare for the flu and cold season.

Our best germ fighting strategy is when you cough or sneeze, always do so into your elbow, not your hand. Of course, number one is always wash your hands!

My tips are to eat some raw garlic at least a few times a week and drink a tablespoon or two of undistilled apple cider vinegar daily. Both are good ways to keep your immune system working. Of course I’m no doctor, but it’s little things you can try if you can stomach them.

  • Dee

Some germ fighting strategies, or how we try to keep contagious germs to a minimum:
    1. Practice the 2-minute hand washing routine
    2. Get an annual flu shot, spray, etc.
    3. Use antibacterial protection
    4. Stay at home if you are sick
    5. Cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze
    6. Keep Kleenex tissues readily available
    7. Throw away your used Kleenex tissue in a receptacle

Keep in mind that Kleenex products aren’t necessarily a WANT; they are a NEED.
