Epic Christmas Cubicles
Raise your hands if you like decorating for the holidays! Okay, so we can’t exactly see the count, but holiday decorations sure make us feel happy. (It may take us a while to actually get decorating, but it’s worth it!) We all know that giddy feeling we get when we walk into the final display, submerging ourselves into the shiny lights, a peaceful white wintry wonderland. Definitely takes us back to simpler times from our childhood, like waking up to the buzzing chatter of adults in the house while we’re slyly sneaking away sweet treats. Right?
Department stores, houses, and office buildings all prepare for the season by transforming their spaces into a magical festive playground. It’s also possible to bring this visual enjoyment closer to our work areas too! With a few simple tweaks and adjustments, we can bring a little bit of magic to our cubicles and office desks.
Check out these ideas for epic Christmas cubicles!
Gingerbread House: Have lots of tan cardboard paper or boxes lying around your office? Re-purpose it for a life-size diorama of a gingerbread house. Just wrap the paper around your desk walls and completed the outside with giant candy canes, gum drops, chocolate, and all things sweet. For added effort, build a custom rooftop from the cardboard boxes and drape it with white cloth to mimic snow!
Winter Wonderland: Stick to white and silvery tones as you sweep in wreaths, snowflakes, and ornaments around your cubicle space. It’s easy to create original unique snowflakes by cutting circles, squares, and diamonds into folded paper. Green tip- Repurpose scrap paper by using the empty backs; it avoids wasting new sheets of paper! Construct a snowman family with foam balls to add some smiling faces by your desk. Stringing fluffy white garlands bring out the final touches to your winter wonderland, no snow required.
Hogwart’s Express: Recreate a scene from our beloved wizard movie, Harry Potter, by setting up a train station in your office lounge. All you need is a few signs indicating the name of the station, a “ticket booth,” and fun conductor hats! Add a table with decorations as your centerpiece in the holiday office party gift exchange.
The North Pole: Does your office have a pole? Wrap it up in red and label it North, hence the North Pole. Get it? Hanging up snowflakes is simple and completes the look. To turn the whole office into Santa’s home, revamp gray cubicles into little snow-covered elf cottages. Green and white wrapping paper can go a long way!
Red (and Green) Foliage: If your office big on having plants around? (Shoplet definitely is!) Having plants around in the workplace is known to improve employee productivity by decreasing stress levels. By strategically placing plants around the office, they can even help reduce office noise. This holiday season, adorn your office with poinsettia flowers! Poinsettias are widely used in Christmas floral displays for their bright red and green colors. These plants can bring a pleasing aesthetic value to the office!
