In our second installment, Tony talks about the nature of the industry since the early days of Shoplet. When Shoplet was founded in 1994, there were very few green office products to choose from. And the small number of green products that were available either sacrificed quality or price – if not both. Identifying this situation, he set out to close the gap. His mission: To offer more eco-friendly office supplies than any other company in Shoplet’s space, while still maintaining a high quality and a comparable price.
Tony knew that this industry needed help, and he took charge to ensure that any like-minded business owner could be eco-conscious without breaking the bank. Tony thought that every product could be green, but no other company stepped up. So, he thought, ‘why not us?’
