Shaking Up Your Coffee With These 4 Awesome Recipes
Let’s be real. Your morning routine needs to be shaken up a bit. These days, the same boring, ice coffee just doesn’t cut it. Leave the hot stuff for the winter because it’s time for something yummy! Trust us, blending coffee with cold milk and ice-cream just works and makes your morning cup taste so much better. Ditch those expensive café style drinks and put your cash back in your wallet. With these DIY recipes, you can make it on your own!
The Basic Coffee Milkshake
- 1/4 cup very strong coffee or espresso cooled
- 2 cups ice cream
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons chocolate syrup (optional)
Instructions: Brew a strong cup of coffee and chill in the fridge for 2 hours, then add your chilled coffee, ice cream and milk to the blender. Blend on high speed until the consistency is smooth. If you’re craving something extra sweet, add chocolate syrup or another scoop of ice cream. You can make a variation of these recipes by making your coffee stronger or weaker as desired.
Chocolate Chip Mocha Milkshake
- ¾ cups brewed coffee
- 1 ½ cups of ice cubes
- 5oz Vanilla Greek Yogurt
- ¼ cup chocolate chips
- 4 tbsp. chocolate syrup
Instructions: Pour your chilled coffee into the blender and mix the Greek yogurt and your chocolate syrup (or substitute with chocolate powder.) Blend until the mixture is frothy and smooth. Then pour into a serving glass and top it all off with chocolate chips and whipped cream.
Almond Milk Mocha Frap
- 2 cups of Almond Milk
- 1 cup of vanilla ice cream
- ¼ cup of Chocolate Syrup
- 2 cups of cold brewed coffee
- Whipped Cream
Instructions: Leave your brewed coffee in the fridge until chilled, then mix the coffee with the vanilla ice cream, 2 cups of Almond Milk and 1/4 cup of chocolate syrup together in a blender until smooth. If the mixture is too thick, you can add a couple splashes of milk to loosen it up. If it is too thin, add a little more ice cream and pulse to smooth out. Top with a very generous head of whipped cream and drizzle with additional chocolate syrup. Serve immediately and enjoy!
Almond Milk Mocha Frap
- 1 cup of milk (Whole, reduced fat or Skim)
- 1 cup of ice cream
- 2 tablespoons of sugar
- 1/3 cup of chocolate chips
- 3 tablespoons chocolate syrup
Instructions: Combine your chilled coffee with 1 cup of ice cream and 1 cup of milk. Blend on high until the mixture is smooth. Once blended add sugar and chocolate syrup. Divide the milkshake among chilled glasses. If desired, top with whipped cream and a drizzle of caramel sauce.
